  • Bill Walton was just as good a passer or better. Remember, in the old days the lane was crowded and defensive players could hand-check the offensive players. You had to "thread the needle" back then, but today players could drive a truck through that wide open lane. It's difficult to compare eras. In the NFL, Joe Namath played against much tougher defensive situations than today's players.

  • To say he's better than Jabbar is ludicrous and shows that people look at shows like this and a bunch of highlights and think this reveals the truth. Puleese! If Jabbar was playing by today's rules in today's game he would dominate even more. Jabbar was an awesome passer and the sky hook was unstoppable. I love Jokic, but we need to get a grip. Also, let's see what his 20 year career reveals and then compare him to Jabbar.

  • Jokic is a talent no doubt. And certainly blowing away the way the Center position was played way back when. However you opening the best offensive Centers ever Jabbar and Shaq of course, but no mention of Wilt? When he was playing to score nobody scored like him. What is new is old etc. Jokic little hook in close reminds me some of the original NBA Superstar big Man George Mikan who scored a bit himself. • Its funny because you got advanced stat nerds now who are glorifying the modern NBA like because Jokic exists that there will be other guys like him in the future to resurrect the play styles of past legends. Jokic himself a fucking outlier considering nobody saw him coming from the draft and nobody envisioned that his passing and handles would be transcendent. There will never be another Larry Legend and though Jokic may come close, his talents are just as unique that he is THE first and last Jokic.

    • @tunanorth The fact that Wilt's team was in the middle of the pack on offense rating should consider towards a player own offense, and the pace argument is true, Wilt, Jordan and Kobe were players with +-40% of their teams scoring load, but they average 35 ppg, with a much lower average in playing time, so if they're both carrying a offense as hard as Wilt, and scoring the same percentage of points, but they're averaging 15 points less, it's something with the pace, and both had better offensive ratings than Wilt, his 50 ppg are way more because of his motor and resistance to play 48 minutes than his pure scoring, of course that's the end, he was a monster, 100 is hard to score, and he maintenance a consistent level of scoring, but it's not as impressive, and his play making was kinda poor during that stretch, since he would often opt for scoring rather than pass most of the time(ge average 19 shot attempts per assist, the highest ever) he could pass, you can't lead the league in assists without being a good passer, but he often just, doesn't want to pass, and forces some shots that could make his team offense better, Wilt was a monster, but he is not the best offensive big ever in my opinion, since his immense load could've been lower to help his team offense improve.

Pedro Augusto CostaPedro Augusto CostaПре 7 дана
    • @Pedro Augusto Costa Saw it; disregarded it. His main point was that Wilt played a lot of minutes. If you somehow forced Shaq to be on the floor all 48 minutes straight, he would be productive for about the first 15, very slow for the next 15, and literally immobile for the rest. His averages would go DOWN. Also, calling Wilt's opposition slow 6-4 white guys is ridiculous, and apparently forgets about not only Russell, but Nate Thurmond, Willis Reed, Walt Bellamy, Zelmo Beatty, Elvin Hayes, Wayne Embry, Artis Gilmore, Bob Lanier, Wes Unseld, and some super-short guy named Kareem. The only "short guy" on that list is Unseld, who is the exact same height as Ben Wallace.

It will go 5 meters left up or right of the target. I think his only weakness of being a great passing assist maker is the passing off his left hand .all the great assistant s had master assist of the ball with both hands lef or right (Magic Johnson, Stockon,J Kid, Nash, Iverson)

  • No, Jokic is not Kareem as a center, not yet anyway. Kareem was a powerhouse scorer, obviously, and he won rings over almost twenty years (he played a bit too long, but we can't say "what if?" had he retired when he was, say, LeBron's current age), and Kareem was the better defensive center, by far (as was Russell, of course). Walton was good for about a year and some change, and he was a VERY great passer, pretty much Jokic's equal, though some will not believe me there, and he did everything else too. But he had a tragically brief peak career. Wilt checks ALL the boxes and then some, and he truly revolutionized the game, as any NBA fan interested in history knows. In our time, though, YES, Jokic is revolutionizing the center position, and it'll take time to see if he has any disciples. Kareem, Wilt, Olajuwon, Walton, and Shaq did not, not really. They were freaks and remain so, and the same may be true of Jokic. Like all great players, he's doing his best with his skills and body, and we get to watch him make those incredible passes and take those audacious shots. Despite today's NBA--no hand-checking, too little defense and too many 3s (which Joker can obviously shoot as well)--the NBA is exciting because of players like Jokic (and others whose names end with the letter "c"!) and Westbrook and Giannis and all the others. For me, at this moment, Jokic is the most fun to watch.
